EM Cloud™ Auto Order generates your supplier orders from live sales and stock data. Investment Buy times those orders around supplier promotions, so you buy ahead only when the deal is genuinely worth it.
Automated ordering, then smarter buying.
Auto Order is the automated replenishment module in EM Cloud™. It takes your stock on hand, minimum presentation level and average weekly sales, works out what to order and how much, and generates the supplier order for you — across warehouse, fresh and direct suppliers.
Investment Buy is an extension of Auto Order. It reviews cost, stock, the auto order cycle, sales history and deals still to come, then places the order on the last day to order a special — so you capture the promotional cost without committing early or over-buying when a better deal is on the horizon.
Jones Retail Group runs a portfolio of supermarkets and has used EM Cloud™ Auto Order and Investment Buy across every store.
“A key part of this is that it’s automatic. The team don’t have to do any work, and they can then go on top of that and invest deeper and heavier on selected lines. It’s working in the background and just making money.” Michael Tucker — Systems and Retail Technology, Jones Retail Group
Auto Order uses live sales and stock data in EM Cloud™ to generate supplier orders automatically — across the warehouse, fresh and direct suppliers alike.
Auto Order removes hours of manual order writing every week and takes the guesswork out of replenishment — fewer out-of-stocks, less overstock, and less shrink on fresh.
It standardises buying discipline across every site. No store’s ordering depends on who wrote the order that day, and head office sees all of it in one cloud back office.
Investment Buy leverages upcoming purchase promotions and uses store-specific settings and sales forecasts to determine when and what stock needs to be ordered, aligning with each supplier’s order cycle so stock is replenished precisely when required.
Investment Buy logic is configured per store, department and sub-department. For multi-store groups it is set by store size, allowing for the storage each site actually has.
A supplier promotion runs — say, 10–20 February.
The module automatically reviews cost, stock, the auto order cycle, sales, sales history and deals still to come before placing an order.
The last day to order the special is 12 February — the order is placed automatically on that day, based on the logic you set.
Delivery lands on the supplier’s order cycle, within the storage you allowed for at setup.
The stock sells at normal price after the promotional period, and the margin stays in the business.
Avoid early investment or over-committing when a better deal may be scheduled. Save money and make smarter purchasing decisions.
Forecast demand and trends from your own sales history, promotions and stock position.
Automate and streamline inventory management and purchasing. Save time and reduce manual errors.
Maximise your profit using cost and purchase history data, without passing increases on to the customer.
Investment Buy adds dedicated columns to the automatic order, so the benefit is measurable line by line.
Total savings achieved through investment buying.
Time elapsed since the previous purchase deal on that item.
Time since the best purchase deal in the past 13 months.
The success status of the investment buy for each item.
One independent supermarket ran a two-week investment buy strategy. On a single grocery order, one line looked like this (all figures in AUD, excluding GST):
Across all 39 line items on that one order, the total saving was $282.
One order, one store. The point is what accumulates when the logic runs on every order, in every department, every week.
Independent supermarkets and grocers, fuel and convenience, liquor, bakery, butcher and fresh food operators — single store or multi-store — running EM Cloud™. If someone in your business spends hours a week writing orders, or you are buying promotional stock on gut feel, this is the module that pays for itself.
Auto Order is the automated replenishment module in EM Cloud™. It takes your stock on hand and minimum presentation level and determines how much you need to order, taking in the average weekly sales, then generates the supplier order automatically across warehouse, fresh and direct suppliers.
Investment Buy is an extension of the Auto Order module in EM Cloud™. It leverages upcoming purchase promotions and uses store-specific settings and sales forecasts to determine when and what stock needs to be ordered, aligning with suppliers’ order cycles so stock is replenished precisely when required and bought at the best available cost.
Auto Order decides what to order and how much, based on stock and sales. Investment Buy decides when to place that order to get the best cost — reviewing cost, stock, the auto order cycle, sales history and deals still to come. It is an additional feature that complements Auto Ordering and runs alongside automatic order generation.
Yes. Investment Buy aligns with each supplier’s order cycle. If the last day to order a special is 12 February, the system places the order automatically on that day, so you capture the promotional cost without committing early.
Yes. Investment Buy logic is set up per store, department and sub-department, and customisable settings let you tailor the system to your own conditions. Available storage is considered when the logic is set up, and for multi-store groups the setup can be extended across locations based on each store’s size.
Investment Buy adds dedicated columns to the automatic order: total savings achieved (Investment Buy Save $), days since the last deal, days since the best deal in the past 13 months, and the investment buy status for each item. Detailed reporting lets you see the total savings the module has delivered.
Both. For a single store, Auto Order removes hours of manual order writing each week and reduces out-of-stocks, overstock and fresh shrink. For a multi-store group it standardises buying discipline across every site, with head office visibility in one cloud back office.
Yes. Auto Order and Investment Buy are modules within EM Cloud™, GaP Solutions’ cloud-based retail management system. They use the same sales, stock and cost data as the rest of the platform, which is what allows the ordering logic to work without any extra data entry.
